Howard is an expert in accounting for emerging public companies and in all aspects of public company financial reporting with extensive experience in IPO/APO’s, acquisitions, reverse business combinations, SPACs, due diligence, financings, derivatives, Sarbanes-Oxley, and SEC regulations.

Howard is an advisor to a broad range of investors and companies in the micro and small cap space, providing financial guidance that facilitates getting companies and their acquisition candidates ready for the rigors of public reporting.

Howard’s experience includes navigating the accounting for the many and complex ways in which micro cap companies are financed, including through straight common stock, convertible preferred stock, warrants, convertible debt and with asset-based borrowing.

Howard has over 25 years of senior financial and strategic business experience. He has experience in a wide array of industries including software development, government contracting, risk management, digital marketing, consulting, real estate development, renewable energy, winery operations and special-purpose acquisition companies.

Howard founded Financial Consulting Strategies LLC in 2004, and since, the company has been providing financial leadership and financial reporting solutions to companies throughout the United States. Under Howard’s leadership, FCS has been a real partner to its clients, providing tailored solutions that have included: due diligence, pre-audit and Form 8-K filings in support of acquisitions, preparation of Forms 10K and 10Q to meet quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements, assistance with filings to register securities and assistance with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Before founding FCS, Howard served as the CFO of Konica, a consumer imaging company, where in addition to the typical CFO responsibilities, he led initiatives in finance & treasury, mergers & acquisitions and operations. Prior to joining Konica, Howard served in financial and tax roles at TECO Energy, a public electric utility.

Howard began his professional career in accounting with Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he obtained his CPA, having earned a B.S. degree in Accounting from Florida State University and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
